2021 Windup

Nate Tomerini has pulled off a near-perfect motocross season in 2021.

Tomerini had won the 2021 65cc Western Australian state championship convincingly with the entire final round event to spare in the points at the end of the season.

Nate trained a minimum of 2-3 times a week, and felt comfortable on the bike all year round taking out his club points series as well. A blitzing performance and an outstanding effort from the youngster and his family. The young gun had been doing some extra work whilst coach Gavin Heggs was stuck on the East Coast with only facetime and message contact between the two during the 2021 season. This meant that Nate was also granted the presence of MX101 coach Jayden Rykers as well. Tomerini: "They have a pretty similar way of explaining, and teach similar techniques so it wasn't too confusing for me to work with Jayden as well" Meanwhile, on the East Coast of Australia now based on the Goldcoast, Gavin Heggs has expanded his presence in the Australian coaching scene having a major positive impact on the motocross community's growth working with some of the sports best, including Nathan Crawford, Mason Rowe, Jackson Richardson, and more... In particular with encouraging kids and new riders into the sport through the Twist it Moto private coaching, and coaching clinics held at multiple venues including WillowbankMX, MXFarm & Goldcoast Motocross club.

Gavin has participated and rode in multiple events including the Goldcoast cup as an MX1 rider, Mx Store 125 cup on a borrowed yz125cc, the Corey Creed "No Rest For Breast" charity event, and many others.

Gavin: "I've decided to concentrate on getting myself into a place of my own so that I'm not limited to getting things done. As well as getting my financials into check now that I am semi-settled in over here. This has meant putting the bike to the side for now and concentrating on business, my part-time job, my coaching programs, and my own personal development. I'd ride if I could but financially just isn't doable at the moment with where I'm at ". With the conclusion to the 2021 year, as a team here at Twist it Moto we would just like to thank our supporters, family, friends, sponsors, and everyone else involved for helping us do what we do!
